Client Overview
Wholesaler of photo albums, photographic frames and stationery. The client is located interstate but due to the location of their major customers, Melbourne is more suitable location for warehousing.
Client Objectives and Needs
Data Active services were contracted to be their 3rd Party Warehouse responsible for:
- De-stuffing shipping containers
- Receiving orders via fax, email or EDI
- Order picking / packing, repacking and scanning
- Storage and inventory management of 200-300 pallets holding up to 400 stock keeping units
- Distribution of orders nationwide
- On line 24/7 reporting
Methodology
A dedicated Account Manager was assigned to this client who, after client consultation, defined expectations and stock and ordering processes. A Procedures and Policy Manual was created and distributed to all staff involved in the client's account.
The Account Manager has regular contact meetings with the client to measure and communicate performance standards, scheduling of shipments and orders and continually looks for ways to improve operations and productivity.
Outcome and Results
Our team understand the service and delivery standards required for all orders as a result of the procedures manual. Orders are picked, packed and dispatched on time and in full, whether they are for cartons or pallets with specific time slots for delivery. Currently we are moving over 100 pallets of stock and receiving more than 3000 cartons per month from containers requiring storage for future orders.
With our client residing interstate, our proprietary warehousing system ensures them of 24/7 operational access to our web based on line system with just a click of a mouse.They can view all orders and product levels and run reports whenever they are needed.
The partnership we have with this client enables them to concentrate on their core business (product sourcing and retailer negotiation) knowing that all their warehousing and logistics requirements are being efficiently and competently handled.
